Another “Brass Ring” Day

So at this point, I feel very confident that the television deal is happening. As soon as the NDA is no longer in effect, I can comment. And I can’t WAIT to share!

But assuming that the meeting isn’t canceled, today is one of those “Brass Ring” moments. Meaning one of those times which, if things go well, we might look back in a year or three and think “that was the moment life changed.”

There have certainly been moments like that in the past, but the problem of course is that we so rarely realize it until it is too late.

I wanted to free associate some thoughts connected with this.

  1. If I’m not consciously aware of the magnitude of the moment, I might well assume that nothing special is happening, and be unaware of the degree of stress I feel. That stress can become strain, which will limit performance.
  2. Realizing that a day is special…well, EVERY day of our lives is potentially special. Every single one has moments of wonder and potential. At the end of our lives, we’d trade all our earthly possessions for just one more happy healthy day. THAT is the value of a day. Recognizing it is a chance to awaken to life.
  3. I have to ask myself: who is the person who could do this successfully? Can I commit to being that person? What are his values, beliefs, perspectives? Level of energy and aliveness? How does he treat people? What feelings does he deliberately generate moment by moment? BE THAT GUY.
  4. If I do the best I can do…
