And in that place of peace, imagine a world where people pass the Three Gates and nurture the Three Centers. Strong, honest, fierce, loving, creative, intelligent, energetic, great leaders and followers depending on context, balanced, spiritual.

I took a gamble yesterday. Done at the wrong time, this might trigger panic, but I hope Jason is ready.

His earliest memory is being held by his sister Nicki. Now, child development experts say that children don’t really remember anything of the first months of their lives. Chances are that he has absorbed this photograph until he believes he remembers it.

Doesn’t matter.

So when he came to the table yesterday at 3pm for our Morning (well, Afternoon, but its morning for HIM) ritual, I hugged him and we began.

“You can accomplish anything you need by keeping your eye on where you’re going, taking small steps daily, and squash the negative emotions and voices when they rise.

EVERYONE HAS THESE VOICES AND EMOTIONS. Everyone. “

Then I laid out the core program for him in the next school year:

  1. B average
  2. Sports letter
  3. Three Gates (“Is it True? Is it Useful? Is it Kind?”)

(There are other concerns, but I think that I can wiggle them into the Gates and…
