30-Day Sun Salutation Challenge: Day 24

The go-to solution for any problem is: find “someone who has already solved it, and do what they do.” Everything else is a refinement of this approach, and in truth our entire human civilization has been based on this. It is why books and education are so important: so that we don’t have to try to reinvent the wheel every day.

“Modeling” sun salutations, then might follow a process like this:

  1. Examining your life reveals some issues like sore backs, lack of energy, lack of focus.
  2. Studying people who have solved these things reveals some similarities of habit: movement, emotion, mental disciplines.
  3. Yoga ranks highly among their choices.
  4. The Sun Salutation seems to be the biggest “bang for the buck” in this arena
  5. Let me try this exercise. Who has taught others how to do this? What do they recommend?
  6. Follow their instructions.

Now, given that process, what specific instructions might you follow? NLP asks you to look into three different arenas: Belief systems, mental syntax, and use of physiology.

To apply these you might talk to a dozen long-time yoga practitioners, and find results like this:

  1. Beliefs: that yoga is powerful and fun. It is effective. It is scalable for ANY level of physical capacity. It takes little time. Consistency is more important than…
