“They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we’re doing,” Cruise shouts in the recording. “I’m on the phone with every f**king studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you m****f****s. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”

So let’s ask a serious question: Does this rant pass the Three Gates?

I totally understand how and why an automatic “no” might come to mind. And my answer isn’t “the Truth” it is “My perspective on truth.”

Is it true? I believe it is. That yes, the concern about Covid is valid, and that our leadership failed us in emphasizing this fact. That this then connected with the people who are merely “very hard to convince” or mis-matchers who specifically rail against authority. You could tell them “get your ass off the track! A train is coming!” and they’d argue with you or insist you ask them nicely, until that train turns them into raspberry jam. A bad combination, one that has caused tens of thousand of unnecessary deaths, and endless misery not to mention billions of dollars in lost revenue. I know for a fact that Hollywood is trying to figure out how to get back to work, what combination of isolation, masking, testing, and tracking will make it possible to produce films and television, as well as exhibiting.
