Feeling Safe
Over the last days, I’ve seen good people commenting on the difficulty of helping people in trouble. That too often, it seems that they cycle back around to hurting themselves again, will resist rational help and justify this with delusions. I recently wrote:
“When trying to help people who have a history of bad decisions, remember that someone has to be the adult in the situation. You may have an obligation to help your neighbor, but you do not have an obligation to help them destroy themselves.”
