BREATHE!

I wanted to discuss ten ways to take The Warrior’s Journey’s most basic technique to a totally new level. If you deliberately integrate short movement patterns into your breathing breaks (the “Five Minute Miracle”), you are starting to understand the potential. For instance:

  1. Be Breathed
  2. Sun Salutations
  3. Joint mobility
  4. A Tibetan
  5. Sixty seconds of Tai Chi
  6. A full yoga pose
  7. A martial arts technique

Do this and some of the following apply:

a. This is a MinMax win: minimum effort for maximum results. The principle of “synaptic facilitation” kicks in, practicing something for several short sessions during the day.

b. Taking the movement breaks that maximize focus and results.

c. Practicing breathing. PRACTICING BREATHING. IF you prioritize the “Be Breathed” movement’s “perpetual exercise” notion, you are learning to create exhalations with contraction, then relaxing to allow inhalations. Scott Sonnon has written and lectured on this, in one way or another, in most of his courses. If every time you practice, you seek to get better at this you are stepping through the looking glass into a realm beyond mere “athletics.”

d. You are NUKING your negative stress patterns. Do this for six weeks and stress that used to make you curl up and cry will trigger wry laughter and a shrug.
