Freeing the Lioness and Lion

Time is getting scrunched up with dual important projects demanding attention. So I thought I’d take a look at the journal we’re creating for the Woman Warrior project.

I don’t want to speak of specifics, but it does give me the opportunity to ask what we are working to create, and how it relates to the concept of the “Morning Ritual.”

First, we want to connect the animal instincts, heart, and intellect together. This gives us the survival energy, as well as the basic natural sense of the RIGHT to survive. Opening the heart gives us connection to others. Those whose survival drive isn’t clear and strong can often trigger it by thinking of people that they love. This is a fabulous way to increase general motivation for life, so when we practice is daily in relation to our mundane activities, in a conflict situation, we find it easier to remember our values.

Note that the “head”, the thoughts and concepts are awakened LAST. Otherwise the conscious mind will snarl itself into a ball, without connection to love or grounded in survival instincts. Bad mistake.

Why do I fight for my body, my honor, my dreams? To protect myself, the child I was, the people who depend upon me, the values close to my heart. All you have to do is dip your toe in that pool every day, and you’ll never lack the motivation to get up and TAKE ACTION.

Every day, you need to connect with your body, your emotions, and THEN consider your overall dreams. Where do you want to be in three years? One…
