How Do You Know When To Quit?

If you make small experiments daily, you can calibrate your intuition about HOW LONG do you keep trying. Often, success is just one horizon away. Of course, there are also times to quit. How can you know which is which?
Same answer I’ve given a thousand times: STUDY OTHERS WHO HAVE ACCOMPLISHED YOUR AIMS, STARTING FROM WHERE YOU STARTED. If you can’t think of one, divide your chosen goal into different aspects and model THOSE. For instance, I wanted to be a SF writer. So far as I knew, there were none (I’d yet to hear of Octavia or Chip. So instead, I modeled successful black people, and then successful SF writers, and saw where their behaviors and beliefs overlapped) and saw that the average writer seemed to write and submit about 30 stories before they got published. I was willing to die on that hill…to a degree. I wasn’t going to trash my entire life for a dream, however: I wanted a family. That means I needed financial security. So I needed to know when I would begin to re-evaluate my plans. That is how I came up with “repeat this process 100 times.”
THAT’S MIND. “Heart” might be 90 days of giving it EVERYTHING you have, all the love and caring and putting the other person first (the “Love Feast”). At the end of 90 days, you will have either transformed your relationship, or clarified that your partner cannot respond to love in a healthy way.
Physically? Every 6–8 weeks you shift up your program. Track the results. If it works, do more of it. If it doesn’t…do something else.
If you do the Five Minute Miracle for at least two weeks, you’ll see the body-mind connection at work. If you break your three major goals into the MAGIC formula, you will start noticing positive results. Create a MORNING RITUAL that embeds this into physical reality, get your numbers up above “5” or so, and you’ll experience synchronicity in a mind-blowing way.
INSTINCT and INTUITION must be aligned with the fear and love in your heart. You have to learn how to press forward, but have the small experiments to start learning when to back away. Give it EVERYTHING YOU HAVE every day..and check your results every week. You’ll learn.
