Isn’t It Better To Know?

BREATHE!!

What are your largest goals for the year 2021? You want to choose large, inspiring goals that excite you — tap into your “why”. Remember that “why” is more important than “how.” If you have enough “why” the rest is just problem solving, and your best way to do that is by modeling the behaviors, emotions and actions of people who have already gotten the results you desire.

But to use the Three Gates here, let’s look at each arena:

  1. Body. Fitness? Performance? Appearance? Something measurable that would make you very happy. I want to attend a Filipino MA gathering in Manila in March of 2022. To do that, I have some specific standards of energy, strength, speed and focus I want to meet. This is the culmination of three years of work shifting my physical program to account for my stage of life. Isochain, Kettlebells, and Yoga are my primary tools, along with Intermittent Fasting, which I’d gotten lazy with during Covid. Food is fun, dammit.
  2. Heart. Family. I have goals for a new house, for Jason’s grades, for T and I to have more “us” time together. This translates to daily actions I’ve defined clearly: morning meetings are the core.
  3. Mind. The career opportunities I’ve looked for for thirty years have arrived. Hollywood and fiction will require writing about six pages a day, four days a week. The Warrior’s Journey, Sunken Place and Afrofuturism classes will take a bit of daily pruning, plus two focused days a week. The daily actions involve studying marketing…
