Isolation As A Gift of Reflection
This can be a time of isolation and loneliness and boredom…or one of personal reflection and discovery, a chance to take a breath. I speak to those willing to take this time as a blessing, a chance to awaken from our stupor and assumptive lives, to stop taking life and each other for granted, and embrace the gift of that sometimes painful awakening.

My dear friend Dawn Callan spoke of this to me, quoting a Bible verse: “Timothy I:7 `I have not given you the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and the sound mind.’ And boy, doesn’t that sum it up? You know, moving center power, heart center love and a sound mind. There’s your magician.”
The Magician. The third circle of her teaching: the Warrior, the Shadow, the Magician. How does this all work?
We speak of opening the body to gain access to our survival drives, and instincts and power. Opening our hearts to access love, healing, and intuition. And opening our minds as the route to spirit.
Think of it like building a volcano.
A volcano taps all the way to hidden magma pockets, perhaps even the center of the earth. But for the lava to reach the surface, it has to travel many of miles…there must be a channel. If it does, it can bring minerals and energy to the surface, nurturing the land and empowering those wise enough to build geothermal stations. Or, unregulated…it can bring destruction.
