Jason’s Core Legacy

I started this essay as a Sunday core-dump. But by the time I finished, realized I was speaking of mortality, and parenthood, and my ultimate purpose in one arena of life. Amazing where you end up if you just get started.

To make a lesson in the Firedance Tai Chi class, I have to jump through SO many hoops. So different from just showing up and doing something I love, coping with issues and questions as they arise. That’s EASY.

  1. Lay out what I need to teach in the lesson. Two moves, approximately moves 9 and ten. (“Seven Star”, “Brush Knee Twist Step Right”)
  2. Video moves 1–10 on my Iphone, using a wireless mic. Tananarive as camera goddess.
  3. Transfer that video to my computer. It is in an odd format, so convert it to MP4 by uploading to Youtube.
  4. Use the “Subtitle” feature to define and number the moves.
  5. Download the video from Youtube.
  6. Go to Zoom. Record the main lecture using a Yeti Mic, then integrate the video.
  7. Upload the Zoom to Descript. Create a transcript, edit out the “ums” and “you knows”.
  8. Download to Kajabi in the appropriate week. Add transcript. Publish

So…as opposed to “just show up and teach” I need the following tech:

  1. Iphone
  2. Wireless Mic
  3. Youtube
  4. Zoom
  5. Descript
