Love Is The Truth

I took years off reading most fiction specifically to connect my sense of current events to the Big Bang. That’s too long a stretch of time, and covers too many levels of reality, for me to have every piece of the puzzle perfect. I know that. But it holds pretty well.

And one thing that stands strong in that construct is the notion that love and fear compete for your heart space. And that when you combine them, or resolve the duality, you get ENERGY.

Easy to understand: put your fear behind you, your love in front of you, and run like hell.

If I know that I love Tananarive totally, but also know that I cannot always express that 100%, that there is a fear imbalance. That is MY work to do, and has nothing to do with changing her behavior. It has to do with changing MY perceptions, beliefs, values…and behaviors.

Almost thirty years ago, I bottomed out. My first marriage had imploded, and I found myself living in a one-bedroom apartment in Vancouver Washington, with nothing but my dog, my bed, a television set…and a gun.

NOT a good combination when you can feel yourself sliding into depression. I needed to get out of my funk, and FAST. The problem was that I had lost my sense of self. And that was deadly. The ONLY thing that had kept me going over the years, against headwinds, was my sense of self, of knowing who I was and what my path was.
