M.A.G.I.C. and the Three Centers

As often happens, as the year winds to an end, I’m looking back over the last year, and see if my major themes are progressing. If I look at the four major arenas:

  1. Family
  2. Body
  3. Career
  4. Finances

Then in “Family” it would appear we have a break-through with Jason — he is admitting he wants to raise his grades, and getting better control of himself emotionally. Physically, I got better medical support for scans and evaluations, committed to taking my weight down to 175, re-strructured my entire exercise program (this took about two years), and am re-committing to Intermittent Fasting at a higher level.

Career wise, I’m making a shift to more emphasis on the screen over books: better work/reward ratio, and more excitement. The chance to repair career damage twenty-five years in the making (I needed to focus on family, a necessary but painful trade-off) is seductive and gets my juices running.

Financially, I’ve FINALLY figured out how to budget on an irregular income. Frankly, this has been the largest wound in my entire character, and required a combination of “Richest Man In Babylon” percentage allotments, and strict dollar allotments in other arenas, as well as creating “firewalls” where money can collect without being tapped for impulse purchases and daily emergencies. For some people this kind of thinking is quite easy, and I envy them. Its been murderous.
