M.A.G.I.C. For Teens Part 2
Day #2 M.A.G.I.C.
I’m doing a core dump of the information Jason will need to integrate for his “M.A.G.I.C. for teens” class we should record this Saturday. He will need to take these thoughts and filter/embellish them for younger people, but the basic principles are the same.

If “M” is Map or Model, “A” is for ACTION. And frankly, this is the missing piece I see in people discussing “The Secret” and other such systems, the notion that if you want something enough, if you visualize and pray for it, it will come.
This, to me, is like noticing that a Rolls Royce can be steered with your pinky. There is little apparent effort. I notice this belief in the children and spouses of wealthy people: they don’t see the effort that went into building the vehicle, or earning the money to purchase it. Stuggle for 19 years to succeed, in poverty, and if you make it people will ignore all but that 20th year and claim it was handed to you. That if THEY were just lucky, they’d have what you have. And such people are attracted to the notion of “money for nothing and your cash for free.”
Its an illusion. “Your ship doesn’t come in. You have to row out to meet it.” and “luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
That said, it is 100% true that there are life situations that would cripple the average person: issues of race, poverty, capacity, disablement…that only the exceptional manage to rise above, and it is unwise to take the notion of…
