(Documenting the path to Friday’s major meeting)

Yesterday I cleared my schedule and created ten pages of rough pitch outline.

Today I have to do the pre-launch on the Woman Warrior project, and also POLISH the pitch. That polish will be challenging, but not scary. Why? Because all I have to do today is today’s work. I don’t have to worry about tomorrow’s. And I don’t have to be worried that I didn’t do my job yesterday. Yesterday took care of itself. This is a matter of breaking things down from complexity.

OVERALL LIFE GOAL>FIVE MAJOR ARENAS>WRITING/CAREER> FILM>SCRIPT>PITCH

Get that? Overall life goal? Happiness

Five major arenas? The Five “F’s”: Family, Firedance (Fitness), Film, Funnel, Finance.

Zoom in on Film. What are my goals there? The first step toward them is to successfully be hired to write a script (or paid for a script I have written). Script.

The first step to get that script is the PITCH.

The steps to creating the pitch are what I’ve blocked out this week:

Monday: Rough

Tuesday: Polish

Wednesday: Tweak and Practice

Thursday: Tweak and Practice

Friday: SHOWTIME!!!

So…if I do this, then everything I do is hooked into my PRIMARY GOAL (happiness) but broadens into an interwoven skein of daily activities — one day at a time. No single…
