The “secret sauce” in my program for Jason is the way different conceptual frameworks interact. That synchrony is definitely greater than the sum of the parts.

If I had to choose just one of the core pieces of the puzzle, it might be the concept of balance. Assuming that all three aspects of your life are important to develop, there are infinite questions that flow from them:

  1. What does “balance” mean? Body, Heart, Mind
  2. Do I need to spend equal amounts of time on each? (No)
  3. Which is most important? (They are all important. But the perfect, safest order to “awaken” them is Body, Heart, then Mind.)

And so forth. Inevitably, you will be “out of balance” in one or another. All you have to do is notice the difference between what you do in the least developed aspect as opposed to the most, and you will have clues. Or, look at the arena in which you are MOST developed.

Today we discussed the Three Gates in terms of school.

What is True? That he needs to graduate High School, and wants to have straight B’s and higher.

What is Kind? Here, the notion is that if he HAS to finish high school, he might as well have fun doing it. It is “kind” to his future self to really bear down now, admit that he cares, and use both his love and his fear to drive himself. But…HAVE FUN IN THE PROCESS.
