BREATHE!

Many years ago, I knew a couple who were very successful. The husband was worth millions. The wife was a stay-at-home mother, who assured me on a couple of occasions that yes, hubby was brilliant…but SHE was responsible for his success. I laughed this off.

And then one day I found out she was right. More on that later…

I see a lot of comments like this:

“I slept a lot today. Emotionally exhausted, I think my stress levels finally wiped me out and my body responded by shutting everything down.

How are you managing the Year20 stress?”

Stress in this context is fear, grinding you down. The first thing to remember is that “stress” isn’t the problem — it is merely the pressure you are facing. STRAIN is the problem, the degree to which stress warps and twists you. When you have balance, stress triggers growth: diamonds are made by heat and pressure.

So…how do you remain balanced? Remember that your emotions are created by three things:

  1. How you use your body
  2. How you direct your attention
  3. How you use language.
