A couple of folks took exception to my comment that I am now so certain about the relative effectiveness and efficiency of UHC that I am willing to proceed with high confidence that those opposed IN GENERAL are either unfamiliar with the most critical information, or are lying for political or personally economic purposes. (As opposed to believing that some individuals, possibly including themselves, have special circumstances in which they would be disadvantaged. Allowing private insurance in addition to the safety net would handle most of this, leaving IMO the only legitimate complaint that they, personally, already have the insurance they want, and that their taxes are higher without conferring any personal advantage. Selfish that might be, but it is not dishonest, or even dishonorable so long as they empathize with people being forced to pay taxes for ANYTHING they don’t personally benefit from. Oh, wait…no society in history has ever functioned like that. So it may not be dishonest, but it ain’t knowledgeable or wise).

Anyway, if I say anti-UHC people are going to be categorized as “sleepers or snakes” as we move forward, it is reasonable that that would tweak those that description fits. And I think it perfectly reasonable that they would want to know my thinking on this, and why I feel this stand is not an insult.

I’ve discussed the “Three Gates” of speech. Ideally, everything we say has to pass three standards: Is it True? Is it Useful? Is it Kind?
