There may be no LIFEWRITING LIVE today, because T and I are getting away for Valentine’s day lunch, driving out to the beach.
But I did want to put the next piece of the “Soulmate Process” out for you.
After you have admitted you want one, and deserve one, and have created a clear picture of what your ideal is, the next step is the one that demands courage and creativity. It is the place most people will stop.
4) Find the 1–3 people you can contact who come the closest to your list. Arrange to have a meeting with them, lunch perhaps. Tell them exactly what you are doing, and that you respect them highly, and would deeply appreciate their perspective, with no strings attached. BE SINCERE. No games. The question is: “what are you looking for in your ideal mate?” Get them to be as specific as possible. Again, get answers to all three major arenas: body, mind, spirit.
What if you cannot find such a person? Then Google is your friend. Either find someone to observe at a distance, or look up a public personage who has the characteristics you seek. I would assume that one of the characteristics you want is “capable of sustaining a relationship.” Oh, didn’t think of that one, eh?
I knew a person who made a list of everything they wanted, but was unhappy that they still had nothing but intense, passionate short-term relationships. I simply asked them for their list, and low and behold, “long term” wasn’t on it. ASK FOR WHAT YOU REALLY…
