Steven Seagal, and why bullies shouldn’t be envied

I’m impatient. We’ve tested the Warrior’s Journey program to the point that I’m ready to create the next step, which is the gender-neutral version. My first step was making sure that it worked for the ladies. Unfortunately, Amazon is having more of their employees work from home, and that is delaying approval of the modified journals. Arrgh!!!!

So while I’m sitting on my hands twiddling my thumbs (there’s an odd image) I’ll go back to Dawn’s core principles. The first two are:

1. Pay Attention.

Stay in the present. It’s the only place anything is really happening.

2. Take Responsibility.

This is your life, take it back. Either you get to own it, or you blame someone or something else for why it’s not working.

And number three is:

3. Don’t Take Any Abuse.

Accepting abuse from any source destroys your self-esteem. Stand up to your tyrants, both external and internal. The cost is too great not to.

##

That’s simple, right? That means don’t give yourself a lot of crap for who you aren’t, or what you did yesterday. Own it, correct it, move on. That’s what the first two indicate: life is in the NOW, and you have to take responsibility to have power. “Guilt, blame, and shame” are about the past, fear is about the future. In the PRESENT moment, there is power.
