The “M” Factor

Are you tired of minimal results? Traveling in a circle, or worse, a downward spiral feeling just a little more tired every year? Then I beg you to listen to the following thoughts. Empty your cup. Take what is useful. And yes, discard the rest.

##

What is the life cycle of your chosen activity? If you aren’t successful at it, what is the element under your control that is the greatest issue?

Looking at the M.A.G.I.C. formula…the very first letter is “M”

Do you have a Map and Model of your activity or process, based on the behaviors, attitudes and emotions of those who have actually achieved it? How CLEAR is your map? How CONFIDENT are you that your chosen model could solve your problem if you handed it to them? Can you analyze what their process would be, their problem-solving, their emotional control, their pace of action?

There are a limited number of things I’d say were absolutely paramount to achievement, and one of them is traveling in the right direction. Knowing that Disneyland is North-East of where you currently live. That by researching and interviewing people who have actually been there you know a ton of things:

  1. Its exact location
  2. The likely routes of travel
  3. The cost of that travel, according to car, plane, or train
  4. The cost of entering the park
  5. The costs of living in Anaheim while you explore the parks
