The Three Centers: Belly, Heart, and Head
So now we move from the Three Gates to the Three Centers. Belly Brain, Heart Center, Head Center. Warrior, Shadow, Magician. Cluster the chakras: survival/sex/power, emotion/communication, intellect/spirit. Or, connect them to movement: up/down, backwards/forwards, left-right. Or…
Once you realize that these “Three Centers” relate to the chakras, which are the most complete “map” of human development in the world, you will hopefully grasp their power. But even if you don’t go exploring, merely seeking balance in the Three Centers is a revelation.
Balance means equal attention, NOT equal time and energy. If the average person works 8 hours a day, it would be nonsensical to suggest that “balance” would require eight hours of exercise, eight hours of meditation, and eight hours with your family.
But it makes sense to consider work, health, and relationships to be on the same level, that you put weekly time into considering what the minimums and optimal investments are. I would say that an hour a day with family, three hours a week of exercise, and 30 minutes a day of internal work would create amazing results. My minimums would be less than this, but once defined, I have the responsibility to DO IT.
Drop dead minimums might be:
- Five minute miracle
- A sentence a day
- “Blessing Dance” with Tananarive
- Ten minutes checking in with Jason.
