Winning The Morning

I’m looking at a HUGE load of work barreling toward me, so the most important thing I can do, now, BEFORE the pressure hits, is to define the amount of work that must be done to stay on track, and to find ways to do it with elegance, power, and joy. Drilling down, I found an expert on the “Done By One” idea, how to get more and more done at the BEGINNING of the day, the notion being to get a major “win” first thing in the morning, to set up your day.

The biggest thing he seems to be saying is that you have to decide what the most important thing you have to do that day, your #1 priority in the most important of the following areas, according to a pastor named Luciano Del Monte:

  1. Health
  2. Family
  3. Wealth
  4. Personal enrichment.

These are the four “seasons of life” and everyone (according to this theory) should be focused on one of them as the most important, and then find the most important thing you can do to get it moving.

So…as there is business coming at me like a freight train, so that’s it.

  1. In your Journal, AT NIGHT, you plan out your “perfect morning”, the things you have to get done first. “Done by One.”
  2. Put the most important things first, and the most important thing in the arena of your “most important thing” is top of the list.
  3. This is your first “Pomodoro” chunk. BEFORE you go into your time wasting, distracting activities (answering emails…
