Why Truth? Why Usefulness? Why Kindness?
My new WARRIOR’S JOURNEY course is so complete that I can just pull pieces out, relate it to reader or student queries, and stay on track. The “Three Gates” are one of the most essential pieces, the “Is it True” or “Is it Useful” usually gets little comment. But “Is it Kind” often raises eyebrows.
A person who says that they don’t see the need for this or that of the Three Gates is telling me that they don’t value Honesty, or Efficiency, or Empathy. I then get to calibrate any personal or business dealings with them accordingly.
If they don’t value truth…I’d want no relationship with them at all. And their capacity to do useful work will eventually plummet. And if they are dishonest enough, they won’t be able to determine what would be kind.

If they don’t value kindness, I might deal with them in a business sense, but would avoid them in personal life. But a “faith” based position on humanity is that we are all connected: one has to avoid deep truth to be unfeeling. On a spiritual level, we don’t see thee same world, and I can be certain thee will be serious mis-matches about our core values. What THEY consider “useful” or “true” isn’t going to match. They are heading to a different…
